Workshop for professional dancers: The Living Technique: Body, Voice, Land

On the 4th of October the guest artists are offering a community (open level) workshop at 4 PM (until 5:30) "Queer Conscious Moving Bodies" and at 6 PM the performance "Boy Q". More Info on our webpage: https://www.sonnensteinloft.at/veranstaltungen The Living Technique is a contemporary training practice developed by Sid Ryan Eilers and co-facilitated by EILERS Dance Theatre artists Kaela Willey (they/she), Chase Lo (they/them), Eric Hall (he/they) and Vincent Enorme (he/they). Designed to prepare dancers for Eilers’ choreographic work, the practice engages the spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual bodies. Rooted in somatic practice, the class integrates voice, improvisation and joint care with floorwork, spinal articulation, standing contemporary and ballet-based technique, across-the-floor sequences and dynamic phrasework. Rather than asking dancers to reproduce a singular movement aesthetic, The Living Technique develops coordination, internal listening and responsiveness while supporting each dancer’s own movement language. Queerness operates within the practice as both identity and perspective, creating space for multiplicity, curiosity and different ways of knowing and moving. By moving between the perspectives and practices of Eilers and the collaborating artists, the workshop itself becomes a living exchange. Dancers enter creation physically prepared, artistically awake and grounded in their own bodies.
