W’ART - the Ukrainian artist Veronika Maidukova invites you to examine the topic of war and art

“The W'ART project seeks to illuminate war, trauma and media by examining the role of art as a mechanism for social change. It explores what happens when art is used as a tool for collective catharsis and healing. Our goal is to open up the topic of art and culture in times of war and to bring artists together to exchange values and thoughts on this topic,”

explains Veronika Maidukova, the initiator of the project.

On Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. there will be a performance evening in the Sonnenstein Loft.

Veronika Maidukova is a contemporary dancer who, like millions of her compatriots, had to flee her homeland, Ukraine, a year ago. After her arrival in Linz, she began studying at the Anton Bruckner Private University in order to continue her art and research, which she had begun in Ukraine as a successful artist.

W’ART is a project she initiated in 2022 that brings together professional artists from Ukraine, Syria and other countries to explore the topic of their backgrounds.

Veronika Maidukova is currently working on performances and video contributions in the Sonnenstein Loft.
