Open Rehearsal: INSECTUM by Nina Pfüller and Rosine Ponti

Research on the piece INSECTUM by the RedSapata residency artists, Nina Pfüller and Rosine Ponti.

Insectum is a research into the versatility and sophistication of insects. These creatures have inhabited the planet long before us and carry enormous knowledge in their delicate bodies. Their sensors, hair, sense of taste and smell are much more developed than ours. In Insectum we try to slip into the skin of an insect and figure out how to transform a human body into an insect-like creature.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS 

Nina Pfüller 

Choreographer and dancer

Nina was born in Switzerland in 1999. In February 2023 she completed her Bachelor of Urban and Contemporary Dance at Tanzwerk101, Zurich. She now works as a freelancer mainly in Switzerland. She danced her short piece "breathless" at the Theater Roxy in Basel together with Aline Perino under the direction of Company One. She also dances for Aline Perino in her piece TURBULENCE, which has been performed at various locations such as Incidanse Friborg, in the Zentralwascherei Zurich and at the Tanzfest Winterthur. Nina has been part of the show dance company Tanzia since March 2023 and has been working on improvisations on stage with two jazz musicians, with whom she has performed in both Basel and Zurich.

Raisin Ponti 

Raisin was born in 1997. She attended the “Higher Technical School for Contemporary and Urban Stage Dance” (HF ZuB, Zurich) and graduated in August 2022. During this time she worked with various choreographers such as Luca Signoretti, Rena Brandenberger and Milena Büchi. At the end of 2022 she became a member of the MIR company in Basel, under the direction of Béatrice Goetz, and of ONE Dance

Company in Winterthur, with whom she recently presented the premiere of “ INSECTUM ” in Athens

which she choreographed and danced together with Nina Pfüller. In 2023, Rosine danced for the company cie7273 (Geneva, CH), cantus firmus of Soleure in Solothurn (Switzerland) and for the artistic community Cie Capsule (Biel/Bienne, Switzerland), where she and Marc Ugolini are working on their next project for a Co-production with fOrum culture (Tavannes, Switzerland).
