Stille Wasser Sind is the working title of a new contemporary dance piece which centers on the often-overlooked depth of introverted individuals in a society that tends to reward loudness, confidence, and constant visibility. This work seeks to create space and visibility for those who feel unheard. Chiara wants to show that silence is not emptiness, but a rich and complex internal landscape, sometimes full of anxiety, sometimes wisdom, often both. Quiet does not mean lacking opinions or insight. Often, it means those thoughts are carefully guarded, hidden under layers of fear or past experience. Through movement, the performer wants to explore how the body carries these unspoken experiences.
