January 2024 from 11:00-13:30 Level: Intermediate / Pre-professionals Price: €85,- early bird (until Nov. 30th) / €100,- after / Associated Artists of RedSapata: 85€ WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Slam! is a highly physical, movement oriented dance workshop in which the focus lies on the development of basics, forming a foundation to the translation of foreign material. Every day we go through a warm up that focuses on all the parts of the body, all to prepare for absorbing impact and movement. During Slam! I make use of technical set material and improvisation tasks. We play with irregular counts, spatial awareness, self awareness, isolations, musicality and the distribution of power within all of these aspects. And of course all of this will be accompanied by handpicked and 100% organic tunes! ABOUT VICTOR: Victor Rottier, Born in the Netherlands, received his education from Artez university of the arts Arnhem, The Netherlands. Victor is currently working as a freelance choreographer, director and teacher. 2013 - 2014 he worked as a member of the poetic disasters club with club guy & roni in Groningen, The Netherlands. From 2014 - 2018 Victor was a full time ensemble dancer with Staatstheater Kassel and performed pieces from Johannes Wieland, Hofesh Shechter, Maxime Doyle, Tom Weinberger & Helder Seabra. He was working as Rehearsal director & choreographic assistant alongside Johannes Wieland until 2022. His last pieces ‘greywax 140’ and ‘Sea of Cowards’ premiered in Linz, Austria and Bern, Switzerland in the beginning of 2023. As a teacher he tours his workshops ‘SLAM!’ and ‘Callus & Analysis’ throughout contemporary dance festivals in Europe.
